About Hyesim

Hyesim's poetry is known for its lyrical beauty, its emotional depth, and its insightful exploration of the human experience. She wrote about love, loss, nature, and the human condition with a rare combination of grace and power.

Hyesim's work has been translated into more than twenty languages, and she has received numerous awards for her poetry, including the Korean National Literary Award and the Neustadt International Prize for Literature.

About Young-ju Bae

Young-ju Bae is a poet, translator, and scholar of Korean literature. She is the author of several books of poetry, including My Father's Arms and As Long As There Is Snow in the Mountains. She has also translated several works of Korean literature into English, including Hyesim's Magnolia Lotus.

Bae is a professor of Korean literature at the University of California, Berkeley. She is a leading authority on Korean poetry, and her work has helped to introduce Korean literature to a wider audience.
